Feeling really lousy now. Don't know whether I'm supposed to feel relieved, happy, sad or just numb. Keep asking myself if I knew what I had just done. God, is this where you are leading to? Last few months had been a lot of crying, laughing, praying and thinking....and finally this.

Last week's feast at Frames, TTDI Plaza

Ok, once in a while, random food post for the eyes. Guess you will get these posts occasionally if I managed to snap a pic before I feast on them...or should i say devour? :P Muahahaha...enjoy!

"David & Goliath"

The people who ate them, didn't quite match the size though. "Goliath" was Tab's and "David" was Iggy's. Tab amazingly finished the whole meal after a long time. And yes, did I mentioned that the "Goliath" meal comes with 500g of fries? That meal probably weighs 2kg in total!

Grilled Salmon topped with butter sauce, plenty of sauteed vegetables & great potatoes too!

Definitely look super healthy if compared to the other two :P That huge block of salmon was yummy, crispy outside and juicy inside. It was so huge that I almost had a hard time trying to finish it.

If you are wondering...it's not a really cheap meal. But considering the serving size, guess it's reasonable.

Just got back from Toefl's 23rd belated birthday dinner at TJ Haus. I'm totally zonked out today for some reason. Probably due to the long weekend. Must find a way to go through my weekend feeling less tired. This is gonna be my weekends for quite some time, I better get tuned up for it :)

Had communion again at FCC PH service yesterday. In FCC PH, we partake communion every Sunday, unlike the once a month communion in HPA. As I was preparing myself to partake the communion yesterday, somehow a thought just came by. I felt like God was saying to me, "Jenn, remember my grace and love for you? Now, be renew in it as you do this every week!" It's like "Hello, please remember again this week yea...you have committed your life to me & My love is still with you!"

With that thought, I prayed & thanked Him, with tears in my eyes...I ate the bread and drank from the cup...

A New Year...2010

Ok, for some reason, I'm have somehow wandered back here. Haha...
And again...it has been a while. Good news is, this post is coming from my new baby, Macbook Pro :)
Well, been a long 6 months. Felt it was longer. Not gonna summarise my lost time here, or not I will take forever to finish this post again. Aww...ok, maybe I'll just go through what I have fulfilled in my 2009 resolutions -_-

- Finished the bible again, thanks to Old Testament Survey class @ BCM Night Class.
- Have at least 10 regulars for college cell / ministry. Awesomely, God made way for more! We have at least bout 12 people! PTL!
- Got myself a handphone to replace my stolen one. Got myself a E66! His blessing through a freelance job!
- Got myself a new machine, which is what I'm using now.

Never got to fulfill my "a-country-a-year" thing. But hey, what's there to complain about? I actually achieved more than I thought I would :) And all this...is thanks to You, my Father in Heaven! :)

Oh, I just realised I did not mentioned about my new job since I started. Yes, old news...I have moved into a new job on October 2009. Since then, I have been thrust into a new world of retail merchandising, events, special projects & whatever else you can think of that generates profit (yes, that's exactly what I would describe to anyone who ask me what do i do currently). Well, was scary and still is but I'm learning alot of new stuff. It was a decision and He has brought me through it - will tell you more on the testimony in another post. I've been truly blessed by it; both knowledge and financially. This month itself, God has just poured down even more as my boss decides to give me a raise and bonus. Talk about "pressed down, shaken together and running over"...you can't even imagine the meaning!

This year too, I have started to attend another extra service. Faith City Church, Putra Heights, there's where I go every Sunday @ 5pm now. Taking a step to another new level :)

Tonight, I am deeply sorrowed by an incident that had just happened.
It is said, a small tongue can kill a tall man. Tonight, I had a lil taste of that saying. Tears immediately came to me when I heard those words. Not because I was hurt, but because I felt sad for the person who had just said them. It totally reflect what has been fed into the mind.
Oh Lord, forgive me and give me the strength to pray for the person. Help me not to retaliate but to love just as You would, Jesus.

Hi, my name is Flu, Swine Flu...

Yes, we are in the mist of the H1N1 season and it doesn't look like it's improving. Well, at least people are not travelling as much for no reason (I hope). Was in KLIA 2 weekends ago and it seems like there we not as much people at the departure hall.

We definately need to do something bout the virus and its good that people are aware and taking actions. But then again, how much is too much / too little? Can we be over / under cautious? How about washing your hands everytime u touch a door knob / railing / shopping item? Or what bout shaking hands with another person as u greet / introduce yourself to them? Would you be labelled 'rude' if you don't return a handshake especially to a visitor in church? What are you gonna tell them? "Sory, I don't do handshakes, I fear that you might pass me the virus" What if, your clients extend a handshake? Would you do the same too? Or would you risk the shake for that good impression's sake?

Goodbye Grandma, see you soon!

Grandma finally went home to be with the Lord yesterday. It happened in the morning. Surprisingly when my dad told me the news, I wasn't as shaken as I would have thought I would be. Guess we have been prepared for this new, we just don't know when it will happen. Grandma was not in a good condition for the past few months & was bed ridden ever since February.

This was the grandma that took care of me when I was still a baby. Part of me was sad for the departure, but partly it was a good thing too. At least now she does not need to suffer anymore. Wasn't nice at all seeing her drag through day by day. I just want to thank God for giving her a chance to know Jesus 2 months before. Maybe that's why I am not worried...because I know she is in good Hands now. I just regretted that we did not have more times together when she was well. Will definately miss her dearly...

All for the cause of...

Yesterday we had our first class for this semester of BCM Night Class - Youth Leadership I
It's definately not the same as the previous Youth Culture class that we had two semesters ago. This time is only half the size and the people are of another mix...and I think the work is more...(oh, no!) We were told that we were required to read up some books for our assignments. That's not going to be something easy for me but I thought it was good. You see, I was trying to make my self to read more books this year and this 'book assignments' thingy is sure gonna make me do so. Haha...talk about 'killing two birds with a stone' :P

During the class, Ps. Lisa & a few pastors from the YAM shared how they got involved in the youth ministry. Some of them was in the youth ministry because they saw the need and decided to fill that need. Some didn't even youth ministry in thier mind, but somehow was called by God and ended up blessing so many youth, more than they can imagine.

One thing I think they have in common - their passion for the generation of young people. Thank God for people like them, huh? I won't even be what I am now if not for people like them. Then again, this brings me to ponder about that same question they were sharing about..."Why am I in the youth ministry?" Is it just because of a need? Calling? Or other reasons?

Esther, my friend

Just remembered I had this nice photo that Aaron took few months ago in LCCT - the month where a whole 'kampung' left for the Land of the Kangaroos. Also with them was Esther, one of my close friend since Sunday school. We haven't been close since high school but recently, just before she left, we kinda linked back again. Now that she is in Perth, really missed her, especially that smile & all the encouragements.

Mandarin oranges anyone?

First, they took moon cakes to another level.And now, they did this to the mandarin oranges...cute, eh? In fact, too cute to be eaten.

These are actually small chocolates balls with orange flavoured sugar coatings. They are shaped like little mini mandarin oranges and packed in large dim sum basket. The whole 'mandarin orange' could be eaten except for the 'lil small stalk stuck onto the top.

It was sent to our office by one of our supplier. Honestly, the taste wasn't really that great thanks to the weird orange sugar coat but I guess many wouldn't mind receiving this radical Chinese New Year gifts for a change :) No idea where they got this CNY gift from. There was a website address printed on the paper bag that says www.cocoaffair.com but we found out that it wasn't a valid address.

Amazing how enterprising people can get nowadays, eh?

Gotta START somewhere...

Its 13th January 2008! 13 days has passed for the year...keep telling myself I want to start doing something to make this year a better year. Day by day passed but still nothing much is done.

Today, I told myself that I got to get that '2008 Journal' of mine. Every year I will get a small diary for my daily spiritual journal inputs. This year however, I have been delaying it. Silly excuses like 'too expensive, can't find a nice diary' & etc was part of the reason for the procrastination. Had to admit, because of that, I didn't have a proper place to write down all my devo / spiritual inputs for 2008 yet.

So yea, told myself I think I got to start somewhere , somehow. Finally, today after lunch I made a 'purposeful' trip to the nearest bookstore and bought an averagely looking diary for my journal records. Who cares about how the book looks like or whether its suits my taste or not (normally I'm very particular about it). I just needed something to START...buying the diary was a step to START the ball rolling towards working for a better year!

First entry on my journal for year 2008 starts on 13th January...I guess better then never...

Goodbye 2007, Hello 2008...

Heya...Yea, for a moment I almost wanted to abandon this blog. So many things and so little time to write...I thought might as well forget it. But, here I am again! :) Kept thinking that it's not worth to trash something that I have decided to start and so...here we go...

Goodbye 2007, the year...

• Participated in APYAC in Jakarta!
• Got the opportunity to visit Bangkok somehow with an almost all expense paid trip! (with His blessings!)
• Bought myself a PDA, unique watch, gifts & etc...(probably the year that I spent the most on myself...very rare)
• Privileged to take on the design jobs for the YAM and to serve in the YAM Band (Influence & HUGE). Glad was able to help up! :)
• Being part of the BOH ministry someway, somehow (design and everything else I could help)
• My working hour seems to extend by itself as the months passed by.
• Increase of 'Friend-o-meter'
• One of those years where your Emo-ness and tears just could leave you alone
• More exposure and learning experience as I work (as a result of being in the "Hampalang Department')
• Lost my whole handbag with my hand phone, PDA and many other valuable stuff in it just 2 days before Christmas (Romans 8:28)
• Celebrated a 'Movie Christmas' by entering the cinema 2 times on Christmas day
• Experienced one of my most quiet Christmas and New Year...(after so many years of rushing for presentations and what not. No complains, just felt weird)
• Had our very own youth retreat in the most 'jungle' place in GRYP Retreat history, with us organising it ourselves (thank God for His Hands)
• I did it again!...No hand made Christmas gifts for the 2nd year...sweat!

I guess there's more to it but I just could pen it all down at once. 2007...a year of weird combinations...

And so, Goodbye 2007 and Hello 2008...a brand new year, a brand new start. 2007 was a year of preparation, so that I would be ready for 2008...and the process goes on each year! Hopefully, never stops till He comes again...

Servant Material or Show-off Material?

Strong words for the day. Have been facing some situation recently and as I read these words today I was really convicted by them. It was as if the writer knew what I was thinking and sort of confronted me. All these years I never really have any problems in serving. In fact, most of the time I go all out to serve. But recently, there has been a little struggle.

What happened? God decided to change? Or did I changed? Yeap, we all know, definitely it can't be God. So much has been going on that sometimes that we get drowned by all the crapiness around us and we just loose the light for a moment. Why then should I be discouraged or demotivated by those crap? Who am I serving in the end? Yeap, I'm doing all this for Him, not anyone or anything else.

I guess God caught me at the right time to remind me of how passionate I used to be. Never too tired, discouraged or distracted to serve Him fully. I just have to purpose my heart to the right path again. Nope, I'm don't want to be some cheap show-off material because I'm made of Jesus' servant material.

Fast Forwarded Summary

Yes, it has been a long time since I was here...So much thoughts, just didn't make the time to really jot them down here. Well, its gotta start somewhere I guess. Been a long break since the last time. Done so much, seen so much. Here's the summary of what has happened...(really random, will add in details later if possible)

Went to Jakarta for AYPAC Conference...20th - 25th June 2007

• Had no idea what to expect and almost didn't know most of the people that I was with but was a good experience.
• Highlight #1 for the whole trip there...our group of escorts! Or should I say our personal bodyguards. They were all younger then us but despite that, they did their best to make sure we had a great time in Jakarta. Cute girls, nice people and very HOSPITABLE indeed. Really taught us to be humble by observing how they did their best to serve during the conference itself. Wondered if the same where to happen here in Malaysia would we be able to be as hospitable as them? Good thought to think about, eh? :) We extended our stay after the conference and the bodyguards where so helpful. They made sure everything was taken care of for us even till the very last moment we stepped into the airport.
• Needless to say, when it comes to singing and music, the Indons are almost like naturally born with the skills and talents. Who says it only happens with the Aussie, British or American? Asia Boleh!
• One particular speaker that somehow caught my attention was a guy named Jim Yost who was originally from the US. I don't know why but somehow when I heard about his ministry, I was interested to listen more and learn from his workshop session which was "Impact City & Nation."Jim has been living in Indonesia for many years. He and his family has lived in the interior areas of Indonesia, carrying out the Great Commision of the Gospel to the many people with different community backgrounds. In the workshop, Jim shared about his ministry in these areas, how it impacted lives of the different people. He was one very direct & radical speaker. One of the point that he made was quite interesting. Jim said it is sad how sometimes the church comes together to celebrate anniversaries after anniversaries but never realise that the thing that they need to do was to kick the people out to start another work somewhere else. If the church just continues celebrating year after year without growing then we are defeating the purpose of a church. He did emphasise alot on not staying in the comfort zone for long but 'kicking the people out' to start new works. Bought his workshop session CD. Thought was a good session.

Had a last minute company trip to Bangkok...8th-10th Aug 2007

• Woa! 2nd overseas trip in a year & so close to the last trip to Jakarta. Seldom happen to me but thank God for the opportunity. Only was informed about it almost a week before we left for the trip.
• It was more of a dine and explore trip. Had the privilege to dine in a few of the most expensive/famous restaurants namely; Celadon @ Sukhothai Hotel, Basil @ The Sheraton Hotel, Benjarom @ Dusit Thani Hotel and my favourite; we visited the rooftop restaurant and bar Sirocco @ The Dome at State Tower (supposingly the tallest skyscraper in Bangkok). Did I forgot to mention that Sirocco was on the rooftop - at least 60 floors high! You can see a great view of the almost the whole city from there. Simply breathtaking! • Really amazed by the sky train system here. Just take the train to wherever you want and it will bring you right to the doorstep of that particular building without needing to cross roads or climb too many steps. No idea why people here still would want to drive and get stuck in more then 2 hours jam if they could get such convenient public transport.
• Right where I was staying, it was congested with so many shopping centres. It was till the point that I had no idea when did I enter or come out from one. They all seems to be connected so closely.
• The King and Queen of Thailand photographs can be found almost everywhere. They seemed to be more famous then any other music or movie artistes. Photos of them can be seen hanging from any building, anywhere. The people here are also very religious in a way. Almost every corner you turn, whether its a 5-star hotel or shopping centre, there would sure be an altar set up for their god. No wonder this nation has so much spiritual stuff going on. The enemies' seems to have a strong influence in their lives. We should really pray for the people and country of Thailand.

G.RACE - GRYP Youth Retreat...31st August - 2nd September 2007

• Finally it's hapenning. Our so called very first retreat. You'll know why I say first if you're in some of our shoes.
• Kind of stressed at first with some details especially it was our first retreat but thank God, things got better later.
• All in all, it couldn't have happen better if God was not upholding us and helping us with the whole retreat. For those who were praying for us throughout the camp, thank you, you guys were doing a great job!
• God really worked through the speaker, Pastor Eddie and his wife, Pastor Adelyn. First session, they challenged us to go deeper into the Spirit by practising it more and also to keep focusing on Jesus. He challenged each of us to really have a vision or dream. I believe that one thing that we all needed, whether it was a reminder or something new. In a way, it also got me thinking of what my vision or dreams and focus was. I knew what I wanted to do but never really gave a very serious thought what I trully would want to achieve. Workshop was about Self-Worth & Influence. A good reminder what Self-Worth is really made of and somehow it was a boost of encouragement to many (will include the formula another day, next time go for retreat! :P).
• The games session was not bad. We had something like a Amazing Race and surprisingly it worked out quite well. We can see everyone doing things that we would never expect them to do. The amazing courage and determination was really 'amazing' for the race. Though my group did not win, I did realise alot of things. GRYP, if we really wanted to something, with the right focus, we could achieve anything as a group. The fact that everyone was so supportive of each other, team mates pushing on for their teams because they do not want their team to disqualify because of them, the cooperation, the spirit during the games...We are all equipped. It is how we would want to use them to go further for GRYP''s sake, for Jesus' sake. it's all up to us. There's no excuse we don't know how to but DO WE WANT TO take up the vision or dream for GRYP. Then only we will be able to finish the race strong together.

One simple verse a thought-provoking moment...

Felt like so long since I have attended a GRYP meeting. I think this is my first meeting of the month or so? Not been able to for the past Saturdays coz of the different events and work. Now I know how it feels to be away for so many weeks. So easy to miss one meeting after another, eh?

This week we have a special guest all the way from the US. Matt Woody, a full-time Book of Hope missionary came and join us for our GRYP meeting. No, he wasn't the speaker of the day or doing anything much, but he was there just to join us for the meeting.

When I was told that he would be joining us, I asked if he could do a short sharing, something that could bless the youth. I decided that we shouldn't miss out this opportunity to catch something from him because I have heard of the ministry that he is in. Matt has been traveling around the different nations, leading mission trips of young people, training them to promote the Word of God through the BOH. He's been to almost 20 different countries during his time with the BOH! I was privileged to have a short chat with him before the meeting to learn more about his lifestyle in the ministry. It was an encouraged for me.

Anyway, Matt shared about Proverbs 16:9 during the GRYP meeting. A verse that has played a very important part in his life, leading him to what he is doing today.

"In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps."

He shared how the Lord has lead him from his own plans to living out God's plans for his life. He reminded us that this verse could very well be an encouragement to us too. Sometimes, we may be planning out everything that we would wanna do but it is the Lord that determines what we gonna do. If God would to reveal to us who we would be in the future, would we turn back and ask God, "God, You sure that's me? Or did You get the wrong person?" Never underestimate ourselves and God's plan for us. We'll never know how He will use us, but we should always be open to let Him to. It's never too impossible to be that person that He has made us to be.

Later that day, I heard someone mentioned how he was blessed by Matt's sharing. This youth was having trouble, thinking of how to bring the BOH into his school to be distributed. But after he heard Matt's sharing in GRYP meeting, he said he knows how to get the books into the school now. Interesting, eh? One simple verse but a great thought-provoking moment for some!
