A new Word for the New Year!

Trully blessed my soul, a great encouragement for me to start the new 2007!

Isaiah 43:16-21 (Devotional thots from Our Journey)

16 This is what the LORD says—
he who made a way through the sea,
a path through the mighty waters,

17 who drew out the chariots and horses,
the army and reinforcements together,
and they lay there, never to rise again,
extinguished, snuffed out like a wick:

18 "Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.

19 See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the desert
and streams in the wasteland.

20 The wild animals honor me,
the jackals and the owls,
because I provide water in the desert
and streams in the wasteland,
to give drink to my people, my chosen,

21 the people I formed for myself
that they may proclaim my praise.

God reminded me to continue to allow His Spirit to work my passions for Him. I have to allow myself to draw my satisfaction from God. My passions should not be drawn from my fulfillment to the world around me but from Jesus Himself! Not the world's approval but God's approval!

It's no use just remembering the former things (achievements or success) but I must turn my heart towards God, seeking to be satisfied in Him!

What an encouragement and reminder to start the year with! Greater 2007, here I come!

Now that 2007 is here, I am starting the year knowing that 2007 will be a greater and challenging year for me...whatever I have gone through, whether its success or failure in 2006, let it be the chapters in my life that continues to lead me through my journey for the future...
